Mentoring Walk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

– Flagbearer of Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk in Ghana \u2013 our Flagship program that has been running since 2009.
– 40 Mentors \u2013 Established, mature women
– 40 Mentees \u2013 Tertiary level (Universities, Colleges etc.) selected through an online application process
– Mentoring \u2013 through Mentoring Walk, short internships\/shadowing, site visits, seminars, meetings in-person and online etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoop Sistas Basketball Club<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mentoring Women Ghana Started out as Hoop Sistas Basketball club for girls
– Basketball as a tool\/platform for mentoring.
– Girls from basic to junior high school
– Girls in deprived communities
– Health & fitness awareness
– Self esteem and confidence building
– Learning respect, sportsmanship, teamwork and positive attitude<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHS Mentoring Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

– Selected year 2 students from underserved schools<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Hosted in Volta Hall for one week with \u2018big sisters\u2019- mentees from GMW<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Mentoring Walk (The Next Step version)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Seminar with Academic Affairs department on areas of study, choice of subjects<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Seminar with CEGENSA (Centre of Gender Studies and Advocacy)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Tour of Balme Library<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Attend lectures<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Experience the social life on campus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          My Mentorship experience has been awesome. I attended Mentoring Walk when I had to participate in an interview process at the UN Information Center and I clearly needed direction on the activities of the UN in Ghana. I was invited to have an internship at the UN Information Center in Accra for three months.
